This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, James B. Sorenson who was born in Montana on July 29, 1949 and passed away on June 27, 2009 at the age of 59. We will remember him forever.
He was a dedicated American and was proud to have served his country throughout his entire life – first as Vietnam veteran and for several decades with Federal Highway Administration Department of Transportation. He held a BSCE from Montana State University. His passion and dedication for family and profession has left a lasting mark both nationally and internationally. The immense tragedy of the loss of James, the awesome-rare son, father, brother, uncle, caregiver, friend and mentor, cannot be reflected in the limited bounds of words in an obituary. There is a void created in the world which will never be filled.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Nels Sorenson and Fred Kraft; his father Robert Sorenson, father figures Raleigh Kraft, Sr. and Alexander Ramsay.
He is survived by his three daughters, Dana, Jamie, Amber; twelve grandchildren; sisters Christine Ratliff, Susan Sorenson, Alexis Miller; brother, Raleigh Kraft II; mother Dorothy Ramsay; 6 nephews and 9 nieces.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Miller Funeral Home from 12pm to 2pm. A memorial service with honors will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 2pm in the Miller Funeral Home Chapel, 3200 Golansky Blvd., Woodbridge, VA 22192
